Since the failure of the Copenhagen climate talks, many have backed away from the UN process. We believe it is the only conceivable forum to coherently address climate change as a global political problem. We realize that staying within the climate bubble and the UNFCCC framework will not allow us to understand and address the underlying causes and structures that prevent negotiators and governments from reaching agreement on a fair, ambitious, and binding global climate regime. A much broader perspective and fresh strategy is needed to tackle inequity and achieve a truly sustainable socio-ecological transformation of our economies and societies.
