Was ist das Paris-Protokoll? Welt-Klimakonferenz, Dezember 2015: Zwei Wochen lang ringen Delegierte aus 195 Staaten um einen Kompromiss. Es geht um Stürme und Dürren, Kohle und Öl und um sehr viel Geld. Alle sagen, sie wollen ein gemeinsames Abkommen erreichen. Doch jeder kämpft mit Verve für die Interessen seines eigenen Landes. Wie soll da eine Einigung gelingen? Das Paris-Protokoll hat sieben Delegierte und Berater begleitet, vom ersten Tag bis zur Entscheidung.
Hans Verolme gehört zu den Beratern im Hintergrund, die auf das Abkommen so viel Einfluss nehmen wie die Verhandler selbst. Er arbeitet für Regierungen und NGOs aus Afrika, Asien und Nordamerika – aus Überzeugung aber nur für die, die es ernst meinen mit dem Klimaschutz.

Another project resulted in a series of papers to deepen the debate among international NGOs following the collapse of the 2009 Copenhagen Climate Summit (Hopenhagen) and the resurgence of country-driven climate politics around the 2015 Paris Climate Summit.
We are actively involved in methodology development for enhancement of the Nationally Determined Contributions and support individual countries and negotiating groups to prepare the 2020 NDC updates.
